Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe. She has also performed at her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop an interest in music, performing and singing in a church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. She became the primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls show during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for her daily shows at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
